- Superior enlargement of the middle meningeal vein or lateral enlargement of the superior sagittal sinus into which they drain. The lacunae lateralis often englarge with age to as much as 2 cm in the very old. The lumen are filled with arachnoid granulations & dural trabeculae & lined with endothelium.
